christmas, blogoversary and a giveaway (updated 11.12.09)

HI EVERYONE!
I've been trying hard to keep up with baking while staying healthy and sane.

Don't think I've been scoring well in that area. Nevertheless, I'm hoping that the coming Christmas holiday would be a good rest for me =D

Since christmas is coming AND my blogoversary in 4 days, what better time to show some appreciation to anyone and everyone who has been reading, has read and is still continuing to read my blog?

And since Christmas is about remembering Jesus's birth (well, also to remind me to be more like Him) and its the season of sharing, I'd like to take the chance to have a
CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY!

If you haven't reaslied, I'm quite a fondant-decorating person. So, I've decided to giveaway some brand new flower plunger cutters to encourage and increase fondant popularity wahahah!

only ONE set up for grabs!

TO WIN:
just leave a comment saying if you like christmas and if you do, what you like about this season. Also, as a fondant advocate haha! Do say if you'd like to see / purchase fondant tutorials that has step-by step photos as to how to mould those cute little figurines =) If so, what kind of figurines would you like?

Please remember to leave your name and e-mail so that you may be contacted if you are the lucky one! Oh! and this giveaway is only valid if you are living in Singapore or Malaysia =)

Each comment will be tagged with a number and D will have the honour of picking out that lucky winner!

Hurry and leave your comment now! I hope to be able to send out the cutters before christmas and so leave your comments by:

SUNDAY, 20th DECEMBER 2009, 2359 hrs

**winners will be notified via e-mail and if response is not received within 24 hours. A next winner will be selected. **

Update 11.12.2009:

I have decided to delay the launch of the fondant tutorials due to personal reasons. For those who are really interested and can't wait to get their hands on those tutorials. I have 2 websites to recommend. =)

This website has both "free How-Tos" and online tutorials sold. Check out the link above for more details.

I do not know when will I be launching my first fondant tutorial, so if you are still interested, just drop me a comment (at the chat box) or e-mail me on what kind of tutorials you are interested it. I may consider putting them up for FREE =D

But no worries! The giveaway is still on!

HI Fiona!

I simply love Christmas as its a time to be together and a time to share!i will make it a point to bake no matter how busy and still hope to be able to do so this year with baby R around ...

If i want to learn to mould my very own fondant Christmas figurines... i want to make 3D gingerbread girl and boy! this gives me the warm homely feel of Christmas! But i would love to create a cold winter theme where there will be penguins and polar bears... which i think is pretty unusual for Christmas but i think it would be a nice touch for Christmas too! make the penguins and polar bear wear red scarfs and Christmas hats!

Merry Christmas to you Fiona and happy baking this season!

I believe juggling with so many other things in life while still working in the kitchen like no one's business would drive us insane and into taking sick leaves lately ... LOL!! Oh well ... Since your Christmas break is going to be so packed, will you get enough rest though?

And HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY to LOVING BAKING in advance!! Hope to see you soon ...

Pei-Lin

P.S. Got my email?

Hi Jacqueline!

yes yes! I rmb you =)

Thank you very much for your valuable opinions. I am thinking of uploading some fondant tutorials soon as long as time permits. But have no clue as to what kind of figurines you guys are interested in.

In the mean time, you can visit youtube and just do a search on fondant topper tutorial. There should be some pretty good ones around =) Will keep you informed when I do upload any tutorials =D

Hi Elsie!

I love christmas too! But somehow the hype is only felt the days/weeks before the actual day. Somehow it is always quieter on the day itself. =p But, yea! penguins and polar bears sounds nice too! A complete, warm christmas feel.

Hi Pei Lin,

yes my dear.. please do get more rest!! and yep yep I've got your email..still thinking of a good time/place. =)

Well, sometimes being busy doing the things you enjoy can mean another kind of "rest". don't you agree? =ppp

I love Christmas season because it's a joyous occassion for us Christians to celebrate the birth of our Saviour. Paired with the commercialised concept, it's even more exciting at the same time.

Happy blogannivesary. I love to have fondant tutorials too as I'm also into fondant deco now.

Thanks.

I love Christmas as Jesus is the reason for this season.

I just got married last year and we had our first Christmas together as husband and wife. A preloved Christmas tree was decorated in a simple way and we had a small dinner with good friends and it was a blast.

Nothing beats celebrating Jesus's birth together with your loved ones and remembering because HE lives, we are set free..

I have never in my life attempted fondant and would love to start with the step by step guidance..:)

I am from Melaka but have sisters living in SIngapore..
Love ur blog..:)

Hi Elina,

I cannot agree with you more on Christmas. It is also a reminder to me to count my blessings for the year. And He is the reason why I am alive again today =)

I would love for you to try out fondant. You can take a look at the 2 websites I put up first as I am delaying my fondant tutorial launch.

I will count you in the giveaway contest. =) I'll just need the address of your sisters should you be the lucky winner! =D

Im glad you like my blog, I hope you'd keep on reading =pp

Hi youfei,
Congrats on your blogoversary!! It wasn't easy to keep up to date on your posts, was it? :p

Christmas for me, is a way to "getaway" without buying too many presents for my children! Hahaha... My three children are born in December, especially my twins where their birthdate falls on 16, just a nine days before Christmas. [So you can imagine the years when they were born, I spent my Christmas in confinement!!] So their presents will be birthday-cum-christmas.
I would love to have your fondant tutorials. Anyway, thanks for sharing the links without reservations. I'll be looking forward to see your tutorials though.
Btw, I would like to join the contest to win the flower plunger! Hopefully Ms Ng can help me to get some! Kekeke...
Happy holidays dear friend! :)

I love Christmas because I have Christ as the star of my life just as He is the Star for this season!

Hi Fiona,

I chanced upon your site from food-4tots! My luck and this Christmas Giveaway is around the corner! Your blog is great with so much of cakes, muffins and decorated cupcakes. I loved all of them.

What I like about Christmas?? Simply a memorable day for me to enjoy myself with my husband before I got my son. Now, we will just sit back at home, watching fantastic movies, cook and bake my family's favourite food, watch the glittering Christmas tree and that's it. My own most enjoyable Christmas at home! Do you?

I fall in love with fondant decoration especially cakes and cupcakes. There are simply adorable. I wish I can learn one day and I am sure I have to visit your blog more often then... haha... *wink*

Have a blessed Merry Christmas!
